Hi Stu.
The Sony Tablet S should fit the bill, although at the present moment it's a bit dearer in Australia than overseas($200). It's a nice unit.

However I'm curious -- I don't know anything about Astronomy, but how could you possibly need to know your location that accurately? (Unless you're tracking near-earth objects such as the moon.) I would have thought a general latitude and longitude would be sufficient, and any error of a few kilometres would make no difference.
The apps available can by using the GPS compass show you the night
sky and stars ,galaxies etc at wherever you point the device making it much easier to align scopes or just for your own info know what
you are looking at.
