How do I copy a video DVD to both my PC and a blank DVD. What software is suitable (freeware preferably). Trying to use Windows I get an error code of ox80030309

When trying to install VM Ware on Toshiba Satellite 100 a message saying VM Ware Player requires features that are not present on your CPU. CPU is a Core Duo T 2350 1.85G. I understood VM would install on any Core Duo,maybe I'm wrong ?
OS is Vista Home Premium.

My system uses a motherboard with a Realtek sound chip on board (ie. no soundcard) and I've been trying unsuccessfully to record sound from an internet radio website using "MP3 My MP3". I next tried using "Free Sound Recorder".

In both cases the resulting MP3 file contained nothing but silence.

Am I doing something wrong or isn't this possible with my hardware?

I am having trouble with UserOs that came on the Australian PC User cover disc in September. I am very new to unix and the setting up of a server.

I have followed most of the directions so far with no real issues, my problem has arisen after I have created my users through Webmin/ Users and Groups.

I have installed your UserOS 12.03 on my AcerOne netbook and it works. However, I have not been able to successfully backup from my Windows 7 PC's.

I set up the share and user as per the instruction on page 72 Sep 11 issue. when I click on "start full backup" button and later check the log file I see the above listed error message and backup fails every time.

Can you help?

I have installed 12.03 successfully, however do not want to leave monitor/keyboard and mouse connected. I would like to access the server using tightVNC viewer only. How can we remotely start up "remote desktop server", can it be done via WebMin?

I have been sent a DVD (size 2.62GB) of TV programs broadcast from a norther hemisphere country*, in which a family member features.
The DVD plays on a PC computer, opening with VLC, and Properties list it as m4V (which I understand is Quick Time file format.)

I would like to make copies for family members who do not have a computer, that will play on standard DVD players.

User OS 12.03Installed Home Server 12.03 on older PC cannot get decent resolution from Gigabyte GV-NX85T512HP. Does anyone know of a driver for this card in Linux or a fix to improve screen resolution?

Hi Darren,Version 11.04 did not like my Sony Vaio 2.4/512/30gb, "did not meet minimum system requirements" message,accessed program once then it dropped out.
Several installs, same result.
New 12.03 won't install at all,the install bar keeps traversing the screen forever,if I hit enter I get the big error message.
Sony previously had WinXP, and now I have installed Win7 to test the unit, it works Ok.
Any hints please,

I was wondering before I upgrade to the new Home-Server 12.03, the files that are on the file system hard drive will they be lost or will it just overwrite the OS?
If it overwrite's the existing files can you suggest the best and fastest way of copying them.
