Installing packages into UserOS

I have just installed UserOS 10.10 from the April 2011 magazine onto a USB key. Works a treat !.
However, whilst I can install packages, they seem to be lost on a reboot. How can I install a package (such as Transmission) into the operating system ?

Thanks

Sounds to me as though you're running the OS in tryout mode only. Have you installed the OS onto the PC?

If you haven't, DO NOT INSTALL IT ie. DUAL-BOOT IT onto a PC with Windows on it and then come back and ask us how to get it back off again.

I'd suggest a new hard drive to be safe.

But bottom line, you have to install the OS onto a system first before you can start permanently install apps.

Cheers, Darren.

Thanks Darren,
I'm using an old laptop with no hard-drive and trying to use it a cheap internet box.

So it would be nice to have the necessary apps pre-installed into the operatring system.

Thanks
