I want to create a portfolio of work, that would include drawing files from autocad, and bitmap and jpeg files. I want to be able to give a link or address to a potential employer. I also want to make the images and complete file disabled from copying or altering.I would be able to use Windows 7 Photo Gallery and Paint.

Hi.

Do you want people to be able to view the drawings on a web site (via their browser) or do you want them to be ab;e to download them for viewing in the original programs (such as AutoCAD)?

Yes, I'm not sure how you could secure your drawings if you want them viewable in the native programs. I would probably use web-friendly formats such as jpegs (for your images) and pdfs (for your larger drawings).

Creative professionals often build their own portfolio web sites, but there are a number of online services that would be a lot easier. For example, for a visual portfolio, you could create a Google Docs presentation (or import a Powerpoint presentation), upload pdf versions of your drawings to Google Docs and add links to the pdfs in the presentation.

Google Docs has 'share' settings that allow you to share a document (or file) only with certain people. Those with permission will still be able to download images in your presentation, but it's probably not worth worrying about if you use lower-res images in your presentation and pdfs for your drawings.
