Which brand is better?

Does anybody a good AMD or Intel Laptop with a 500GB HDD, 4GB of Ram and Web Cam for $800 or less.

There are probably 30 or 40 AMD and Intel notebooks around for under $800. Can you be a bit more specific?

If you've got $800 to spend, I'd recommend going for an Intel Core i5 model - it'll give you the best performance for that price and pretty decent battery life.

If you want specific models, I've just finished testing some 30 notebooks for the March issue of PC User, which comes out Wednesday, February 1.

You'll get all the gory detail there.

Check out the benchmarks of AMD vs Intel at www.cpu-world.com/ as this site will give most of the specifications from the early beginnings of CPU`s right through to most of the latest offerings on which you can compare the differences so you will have some idea of what they can and cannot do.
