Laptop doesn't have USB boot option

Hi PC User

I have followed the April 2011 instructions and loaded UserOS 10.10 on a USB stick.

My laptop is ASUS L3800 with P4_L3REV 1xx m/b and Award Bios Rev 0111

With the bootable USB inserted, I cannot see a USB boot option when I access the BIOS setup, nor when I power up and press Esc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Unfortunately, it sounds like your notebook doesn't support booting via USB. The L3800 came with a CD-RW drive though, didn't it? You could always burn the UserOS ISO image onto a 700MB CD-R using something like ImgBurn (use the Burn Image to Disc option).

Once the OS is installed, you should still be able to load the apps from the USB drive.

Cheers, Darren.

Thanks, Darren

I'll give it a go.

You might find that the USB option is not visible until the USB drive is plugged in.
This happens with my Toshiba laptop when entering the boot options menu.
Hope this helps?

Hi,
I have tried to burn it to CD unfortunately the ISO file is 770MB, hence it does not fit to 700MB cd-R. Is there any other ISO file?
