If I want to send a photo by email from my "Pictures" I right clk on the photo, go to Send To and choose Mail Recipient
and it then takes me to Windows Live Mail.
My question is - what method can I use so that I can use another email eg. Yahoo and NOT Live Mail.
I hope there is an easy alternative.

Its not easy. First make sure you know the details of where the picture is on your computer. Then log into yahoo mail. Create new mail.Select a recipient. Write a title. Click on add attachment and navigate to where your picture is. Hit Open. Then wait for the picture to uploda. When it has finished uploading, you can send the photo.
The problem is that when you right click on the photo and hit send to, windows brings up the default email program - in your case Windows Live Mail. This setting is hidden somewhere in your web browser or Windows Live Mail itself.
Alternatively, you can Try installing thuinderbird. It shoudl ask you during the installation whether or not you wnat to make Thunderbird your default email software.
The latest Gmail allows you to drag and drop a file into the email.
Start a new email
> Compose will launch the email editing window
Locate the photo or file and instead of right mouse click > Send To > Mail Recipient simply select the file and drag it towards the menu bar in the mail editor.
As you "move" the file to the email editor, it will display "Drop files here to add them as attachments"
Drop the photo(s), continue to write your email and send.
