"Phonex Tech Support here..."

From the Tech Support Group at Phonex Broadband: We agree that testing the network with hardwire should be done first.

To test the powerline connectivity of the NeverWire14 network, we suggest the "7-second diagnostic" test. To do this, plug all NeverWires into an electrical outlet. Press the "Diags" button on top of one of the NeverWire 14 units on the network for 7 seconds. This sends a signal to all other NeverWire 14 units on the network. After releasing the button, the "Test" light will blink once for every other NeverWire on the network that sends a signal back. For example, if you have 3 NeverWire 14 units on your network, the "Test" light should blink twice.

If the "Test" light blinks fewer times than expected, check the "Test" light of the other NeverWire 14 units. On each of the other units that communicates with the originating unit, the "Test" light will come on steadily for three minutes. Any unit whose "Test" light is not on is not connected properly to the network.

Security may need to be re-set (found on page 28-30 of the User Guide). The "Secure" light on all NeverWire 14 units on the network needs to be set to the same security.

Once the "7-second diagnostic" test is successfully completed, check to make sure the ETH L/A light is on for all NeverWire 14 units on the network. This tests the Ethernet connectivity. If any are not on, the Hub/PC switch (a crossover switch) may need to be moved to the other position.

Once all ETH L/A lights are on, the network should work. Powering down all Ethernet devices on the network for 5 minutes and powering back up again may be necessary.

Note: A router or Internet Connection Sharing software may be necessary to share the Internet connection between multiple computers. We can be reached at techsupport@phonex.com for additional help.

(Thanks for posting this info Phonex Jason and the Tech Support guys. -Paul Zucker)
