i have a rca lyra mp3 player rd1071a i bought it second hand it came with the instruction manual and the usb cable but not the usb drivers i have tried the rca web site but does not have the drivers where can i get the usb drivers to get the mp3 player working is there a retailer that has the drivers cd?

One of these hits was the RCA site, and as I had no trouble finding references to USB drivers for the Lyra units, that's the link I gave. For all I knew if was a different RCA site to the one you visited.
I noted that you asked about the RD1071a and the information from the RCA site which is shown below, seems to cover a number of Lyra family groups. I would assume that you would try the drivers to see if they work. (If not, the next step would be to contact RCA tech support and ask.) I could have asked them on your behalf, but why -- you're the one with the unit in front of you.
The RCA site seems very complete to me. Here's the information you need, I think.

You have to look under support, then mp3, then player, then your model #. I have yet to find the one that isn't there. It took me less than a minute to get to and download both the firmware and the software.

For the most part if there is nothing posted to the manufacture's website when searched by model number... Then there is no required driver and when I plugged my lyra in, windows found it on its own. I do suggest though that if for some reason your computer does not find the required driver to use the program driver detective http://www.drivers-detective.com its not a free program but will go through your computer and find drivers for devices (even not plugged in). Like has been said the internet is an amazing tool and generally even when I buy a piece of hardware I dont even install the disk that had come with it and check the site first hand.
