I think it's extremely unethical for a "reputable" consumer magazine to allow reader comments on its website requesting and listing pirated user keys and telling readers where to get them.

I think it's even more unethical when it's clear that "reputable" journalist Paul Zucker knows exactly what's going on and has taken no steps to remove the offending posts.

well, you could dl backtrack or some other security live-cd . hen you boot it . Remove the whole eset dir. then reboot in windows . nod32 is gone. open regedit then remove in:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > ESET .
that's how i got ride of my illigal nod32 when i password protected my settings in Nod32

Sounds to me like many people are trying to run cracked versions or trial software which will last for approx 28-30 days.
My suggestion is try the trial and if you like it buy it.
And if you have a legimate copy contact NOD AU and speak to them if you have honestly mucked it up and they will endevour to help you.

How people lose their code key is beyond me. When i bought Nortin 360, amongst other programmes, it states on the packet to keep this code key in a safe place. I can place my hands on any code key i want in a second. As we are talking about Nod32 here, if you lose the code key to it, how good is your internet security overall? Internet security is as vital as any other form of security (house and car alarms etc). Would you go out and leave your front door wide open inviting some fool to come in? I think not. Also, going by the spelling mistakes and bad grammar here, i can just imagine what some peoples homes look like, much less their computers. When it comes to your computers security, it's no different. If you aren't thorough enough, you're inviting trouble. There is no quick fix. Internet security takes effort. Nuff Sedd! I trashed Norton's about two years ago because of renew registration and other problems.
Have switched to FREE yes FREE AVG
and don't get bothered with passwords or other folderol.
It updates by itself every morning,
