what i can do to make a recovery disk? (sorry for my english)
Hadi , ,

That's a common problem Hadi so I asked Sony Australia for an answer to the general question.

Q: If you have a Sony VAIO notebook and have wiped the existing operating system, is there still a way to get into the recovery partition of the hard disk to create a recovery disc?
A: Yes, you can access the recovery partition to recover/reinstall your original OS and factory installed programs if you have corrupted or wiped your existing operating system normally found on C: Drive
- From a shutdown state turn on your VAIO
- Press and hold F10 when the VAIO logo appears on the screen
- This launches the “VAIO recovery Centre” utility located on the hidden recovery partition on the VAIO’s storage drive (HDD or SSD)
- From here you can do a complete restore of the OS and programs that originally came installed on your VAIO from the factory back onto C: drive.
- You can do a “Restore C: Drive” which installs your original OS + Factory shipped programs onto C: Drive - leaving any other previously created partitions (eg D: Drive) intact.
- Or you can do a “Restore Complete System” which creates a single C: Drive using all available storage space (excluding the hidden recovery partition) and reinstalls your original OS + factory shipped programs onto that newly created C: Drive (which is the way VAIO’s have shipped in the last few years – ie only having 1 large C: Drive)
- You cannot create(burn) recovery discs directly through this version of the “VAIO recovery centre” utility but once you have recovered the OS and factory shipped programs back to C: Drive as detailed in Steps 1-4 , you can then run the more complete “VAIO recovery centre” utility (which is installed as a regular program on C: Drive) which adds the ability to create(burn) recovery discs – which is basically a copy of the data on the hidden recovery partition of the internal storage drive (HDD or SSD)
Thanks for the answer Sony.
Once again it shows how important it is to study the manual.
Now, next time you want to upgrade to Windows 7, use the "upgrade" option. But be aware that you may still need to
find a couple of drivers on the Sony web site.
