How can I unprotect Nod32 password?

OLDER QUESTION
I installed Nod 32 and used the Password protect. Since that time, I've lost the password and can't uninstall the program. Is there a way to find the password again or uninstall the program?

 As you've no doubt discovered, there's no way to remove the program Nod32 without the password – even if you try to do this using the Windows program removal option you'll be prompted to enter it.
According to the Nod32 web site you'll need to get an unlock key to do this. So, first visit this link and download the program unlock.exe to your computer and then run it: . When you do this, a window will open displaying an ID code. Visit this page: and type the ID code into a message to the support team – tell them you need an unlock code for the software because you've lost your password and want to uninstall the program.
You'll then receive a reply from the ESET support team. Run the Unlock.exe program again, enter you unlock code and click Unlock – the program will then have the password protection disabled allowing you to uninstall it either using the Windows program removal utility ( Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs) or using the program's own uninstall utility which you can access via Start, All Programs, Eset, Uninstall. A Transmeta Efficeon Sharp PC-Mp30, very cool. Just go to Start then click on Run, type in regedit then look down the tree for this- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset\Nod\CurrentVersion\Info\PackageID right click, delete, uninstall, no muss no fuss. Remove PackageID from this branch and you will disable the password protection that enforces access to configuration for NOD32 V.4.0
If you've forgotten your password, as I did (ouch!) you can boot into SAFE Mode to remove that key then remove the NOD32 using Add/Remove from control panel
Tnx for the tips from the earlier posts in this thread or I would have never gotten this deeply embedded trial soft off my machine.

Then you can delete whatever you feel like. I too had to get the demo version of Kaspersky just to uninstall their crap software. I hate NOD32, and wonder why they are allowed to sell this crap. Holding peoples PC hostage should be illegal. Download a trial version (free) of Kaspersky Anti-Virus at: http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/trial-versions.php
Begin the installation of Kaspersky. Kaspersky will detect that NOD32 is already present and will ask if you want to uninstall it. Answer yes. It will then uninstall NOD32 (no password required) and then prompt you if you want to restart your PC. Again, answer yes to restart immediately.
When the PC comes back up, the install of Kaspersky automatically picks up at the beginning of its routine. This time cancel out of the install on the first screen for Kaspersky. NOD32 will be gone.
