Windows database running on a Mac

Sunday, 25 July, 2010

OK you so called brainiacs.

I have a database built using 'Windows' (vomit) and I need to use it on the Mac.

Here's the low down. The program itself is written in Java but the database is MySQL.

Theoretically it should all be portable to a MAC but I don't know how. The new version, which is much faster and easier to use, is still in Java but the database is now JavaDB (also known as Derby or Cloudscape). I have tried to install JavaDB on my Mac with little success.

Anyone got any ideas

Sir Didymus , ,

That's how to get some help from a predominantly Windows help site -- sweet-talk us.

Perhaps it would be better to ask such a question on a Mac help site?

I'm not sure what you want to do -- just open the data on the Mac or run the application too. If it's just opening the data I wonder if Filemaker Pro would be of assistance/

Do any readers have practical suggestion for Sir Didymus?

Sorry, Don't work with Cash Registers (sorry, Macs) but the name intrigues me. Didymus? sure it's not Didymo?
