My best suggestion is to read my Home Studio column in the March 2001 issue of PC User. Making your Own DVD is not really feasible yet, but you can make your own Video-CD or possibly Super-Video CD, which will play back on a DVD player. If you want the entire two hours on disk it will require 2 to 4 disks.
That said you'll still need a video capture card and software, and the utilities needed to convert your finished video to the right MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format, as well as the right CD-R software like Adaptec Easy CD Creator Deluxe, or Nero Burning ROM. If you're using a DV format camera I recommend you could capture and edit the footage on the PC, then put it back out to DV tape as a master. Dub this to VHS tape for now for easy viewing. In a few years time when DVD-writable drives are more common and affordable (and supported) you can then consider transferring your DV master back to the PC and writing it to DVD.
