Where do I get Kingston support?

Friday, 20 June, 2008

I bought an 8GB pen drive of Kingston Chinese one.

All is fine but sometimes when I copy softwares or videos. the files become corrupted and can not be deleted. File names change to gibberish language. I have to format.

So my main problem is that I can't copy video, softwares, movie s and so on.

If anybody knows the solution then please let me know.

Amit Sharma, , India

We keep going round and round in circles on this sort of problem.

If it's a Kingston drive then why on earth don't you go to the Kingston web site and look for answers or ask a support question.

If it's not a genuine Kingston drive then why bother even telling us what name it has written on it. If it's a fake then why would you expect it to be any good? If a manufacturer is proud of its product it won't put a fake name on it.

Why don't you take it back to where you bought it.

Where do I get Kingston support?
Dear Paul,

Many thanks for your reply. Your reply is of no use for me. You have just repeate the same info in indirect manner which i have written in the question.

Taking into condisration all facts which i posted if you are able to help than pls help...
I guess you cant solve this problem..

Pls Dont give the statements like you could go to Kingston we site and bla bla bla..

What you think I didn go to the website.
Why should not we try to solve a prblem knowing it is very difficult to solve perhaps has not solved in the history.(if you give up solving what is not solved yet, Inventions will not take place)

Do you think shopkeeper will replace the pen drive, no dear gray market things does not get replaced.

Any for your info my pen drive is working very fine as compare the other people's (which posted their problems) except the copying, video's, audios etc..

anyway pls dont mind anything i told what i feel.

if you really can help in this regard than help..no need to

(So what happened when you asked Kingston for help? Kingston is a reputable company and would assist any owner of its products. And if it's a fake product then my point was that you have no reason to think that it will work properly. So is it genuine or fake? -PZ)

re: Where do I get Kingston support?
I wonder how many viruses trojans and other nasty little things he has on his computer that could be causing his corruption whilst transfering as it sounds as if its coming from the source.
The reason i ask this is because i myself use the Kingston brand and they are all made in China and touch wood i have not had one failure of any of these.

re: Where do I get Kingston support?
What is it with all the dips##t galahs **** ***** who keep either asking dimwitted questions or posting comments to questions and asking for support for cracked/pirated/bogus software?!

Am I missing something here...or is the standard of ****** education abysmal, or the ***** system corrupting the DNA, or the drinking water contaminated with aging brain rot, or better still is ***** still stuck in "post colonial lamenting for the ***, but we cannot think logically *****"...
And to think that ***** has a burgeoning ICT industry plus Call Centre nous...
Well Amit, why not ask a fellow ****** for some advice/counsel/comment...
Its not Cricket Amit, its Kingston!
"Oh Kingstown...its the place I'd rather be..." Better still try singing "Beautiful Girl" by Sean Kingston.

Here is how to solve your problem.
Amit are you using a pirated copy of XP? Then use your PCs search feature to find any files titled "wpa", then delete them. Then restart your PC straight away...

(Sorry John but I had to edit your post a bit. But I think your point still gets across. -PZ)

re: Where do I get Kingston support?
This reminds me of a post i submitted a while back. You'd think that with all of his money, Bill (i'm now taking less interest in Microsoft) Gates would have had all his software/hardware produced in America rather than have other countries produce it, even under official licence. It's not like he can't afford it. My XP Pro Installation CD-ROM was made in Singapore for goodness sake! If a particular item is unique to a certain country, then i would gladly purchase it as long as what i'm buying is up to scratch. It's called free trade. But, we really shouldn't be surprised here. Look at good old Dick Smith who still pounds the pavement trying to sell Aussie foods that he made, but sold out to Woolworths!! It all comes back to one question. How much money do you need to live on? If i was running a big successful Aussie company with a good yearly turn over, why would i want to sell out to another country? It all comes back to sheer greed. What a surprise that is! Cheers Guys Andy. :) :) :)

re: Where do I get Kingston support?
Hows the blood pressure going Paul.
China is the king of copy so i fail to understand why manufacturers continue to go there to have their manufacturing done. They say to cut costs and to improve profit but once the product is being made in China the coppies start nearly as quick and eat away at sales world wide. This then cuts into their sales and also hits their reputation as people think they have the legit product. It fails so they shy away from that brand and get a different one. Long term is major damage to profits and reputation. I wonder if they will ever learn from this and get back to good old Aussie workmanship.
