I've built a resume that I'm trying to upload to a recruitment web site, but it just won't work.
I did it in Microsoft Word and even on that something strange happens when I save it.
I know it''s there because I can see it in the "recent documents" list but other programs can''t find it and I can't upload it. .

I asked Judith to send me a copy of the file and when she did it all became clear.
Word allows you to save a "template" of a document., That is, instead of being a .doc file, it's a ,dot file. The two look almost the same when in a list, and if you hit the "save" button you just keep saving it as a template.
The solution is to do a "save as" and choose "document" option.
