Telstra gave me a bad credit rating

Wednesday, 18 November, 2009

After being on line to Telstra yesterday for another two departments and 75 minutes, I was credited with $1138.73 cents. When I asked about my letter from Dun and Bradstreet (D&B), and if there is proof to give them or a reference number, Telstra said:

"Sorry, I haven't dealt with that before, I think it will be OK, just call them and tell them and your file will be transferred to a liaison case officer who will then get in touch with Telstra."

Yesterday I was very angry after I rang D&B to tell them Telstra had just credited that amount and I was calling to tell them, the "overseas person on the phone told me I will have to call them tomorrow, with the details again.

No I do not want to call again this is Telstra's f*** up. Why should I be making all these calls, he told me to send an email to telstrasupportdnb.com.au, otherwise It will affect my credit rating. The email address wasn't recognised, so I Google it and ended up here at HelpStation.

This has been a 500 hr resolution campaign, and If you only knew how much money I have spent with Telstra over the last three years. Never wanted to go back to them,

Now I still have to fill out another complaint form to get $300 back from Bigpond which they made me pay to terminate a contract before I could complain. By the end of all this, they should owe me about $150 which if I didn't feel so strongly about pursuing. By the way D&B said on the phone straight away

"Would you like to pay the whole amount now or just half today?

I said I'm not paying any of it .

My advice ... from the very first moment of a dispute keep a diary and write down your details

Did you ring the TIO? This is definitely its territory.

re: Telstra gave me a bad credit rating
After 40 or so phone calls, an email to Choice magazine, I got a call, a credit from the CEO's secretary of Telstra. He said he'd send me a letter of apology along with a credit of $100. The month previous to that, I got a cheque for a phone line I didnt have connected. Still trying to get to terms on that one. I checked. "Wer'e right, youre wrong, its yours."
This actually happened. While I would change ISP's. The bun fight involved with changing to other ISP's who are also confusing with their plans, needs me to do this on a day I feel able to cope. I would say the solution the government has is one that should have been implemented at the outset. Seperate the phone lines from Telstra. Never before in the history of any corporation have so many been made so angry by so few. I moved from Melbourne to the country 48 "1300" calls moved my all utilities. 40 were made to Telstra to get their billing and their connections right. Its the administration that are trying to justify their existence who have made the organisation top heavy. Their technical staff are great and are in no way responsible for this fiasco.
I will be moving from Telstra, when my psychiatrist says I'm clear to act sanely with this bunch of self promoting dimwits. They would test any man. PS Business gets treated differently, and pay through the nose for this kind of "service"

(Thanks Jonno. I'll move this to a separate post as I want to say a few things. -PZ)

Every time someone mentions Telstra my blood begins to boil. They are Australia's bloody mafia.

They are so useless, they even outclass Centrelink in their inability to even change your details, and switching to anyone else results in you getting even worser products/quality/service or the fact of needing to do anything requires your telecommunications company to go through Telstra anyways.

To top it all off, there's nothing anyone can do about it. And complaining to the TIO is like complaining about the boss's wife when she works for the same company. Sure, you may win the round when enough people get upset, but Telstra will never change its ways and next time will be the same as usual.

Why are you still dealing with these people? Common sense should tell you to cut your losses and move on just like Ziggy did.
