Wednesday, 24 June, 2009
Sir my friend Fatima Rani change my id password.
She require to give me password for money 100@
My mail address ****@yahoo.com
Plz reply me soon
Muhammad Fayyaz, ,
It annoys many readers when we post these lost or stolen password questions, so I'm trying not to let them through.
But this is the first time we've had a ransom request.
I don't know what currency you quoted (it didn't come through) but I assume it isn't a trivial amount.
You could:
- Try to recover the account using the "forgot password" option
- Pay the ransom
- Tell the police (but would they care?)
- Abandon the account
- If your country has Sharia law system, appeal to it for a judgment. (I'm making assumptions that you're Islamic.)
But in the end it's your fault for letting her get access to it. Stop crying.
PS: Why do you call her your "friend"? Paul Zucker

Someone offered me $500 for my netr@nger hotmail account a couple of years ago, and i thought they were joking so i gave them my bank acc number and the money was went through in less than 10 minutes-go figure.Since they wanted it that bad,i gave up the rights for it. MikePPosted: 25/06/2009 re: Should I pay the ransom? Changing a password or usurping an account is one thing: demanding money with menaces, I believe the term for blackmail, turns this into a criminal act rather than plain stupidity.
If you have proof, not just a conversation, then lay a criminal charge. If possible get the demand repeated with someone else listening in but make sure that the caller is identifiable beyond reasonable doubt.
-and learn from this!
(I believe that all law systems abhore blackmail) JCPosted: 25/06/2009 re: Should I pay the ransom? What did you do, Muhammad, to get her angry at you...to do such a thing, hmmmmm?
