Once upon a time computers used to come with a CD that contained the operating system and the other supplied software. You had to install it yourself in many cases, but the point is you had it if you ever needed to reset the system.

Nowadays, especially on notebook PCs they don't supply it as a separate disk, but it's on a hidden part of the computer's hard disk and you have to make your own disk (usually a DVD) when you get the machine.

Almost all manufacturers spell this out VERY CLEARLY in the manual, but most users never bother to look at the manual.

So there's your first job - make the recovery disk as spelled out in the Sony Vaio manual. Then you can use it.

The second thing you have to do is immediately make sure that you have good antivirus and anti-spyware loaded on your notebook. The fact that your PC is relatively new yet already has problems suggests to me that you've been "driving without your seat belt" as it were.

As for the MP3 question - I don't understand the problem. What are you trying to do? Perhaps you should ask a friend to observe you trying it.
