How can I get the resolution?

Tuesday, 18 September, 2007

I have a 52" RCA HD TV. I hooked it up to the DVI input, but the resolution isn't correct.

Do you have or know where to find this driver?

John Dodson, , USA

I'd say that RCA should be your first port of call. We're based in Australia and that's a US TV set (even if it's made in China).

What resolution do you expect to get, and what ARE you getting?

What happens if you set the resolution to the setting you want?

What happens when you set the monitor in Windows to "Generic DVI monitor" or similar?

Is it a proper DVI digital connection at both ends, and is the cable a digital cable? (DVI can also carry an analog signal and some combinations can't carry a digital signal.)

What sort of TV is it? If it's an older, cheaper rear-projection TV it simply may not suit your application. Even the description "High Definition" can really mean "average" in a lot of TV sets.
