I keep reading the answers from
Can I empty my virus vault?
They all say that it is okay to delete the viruses that are in the vault.
Well GO TO THE AVG SITE and it say's DO NOT delete them. Or they may be releases back into your comp. Only like one or so answers say's to find out what kind of virus it is and the use a removal tool..That makes more sense!

I think you're misreading the AVG site Scott. Deleting the files in the vault obliterates them. Makes them GONE.
You may be confusing the instructions for RESTORING these files, which can indeed make the malware active again.
No, deleting them is the correct thing to do. In fact, if you'll never want those files don;t even put them in the vault in the first place -- let the AV program delete them as soon as it finds them.
AVG Australia's Lloyd Borrett said
"Files that are removed from the AVG Virus Vault are not released back into the system – they are deleted permanently. The main function of the AVG Virus Vault is to provide a quarantine area to give the user an idea of what kind of infections AVG has been detecting, and to enable users to restore legitimate files that may have been falsely detected and removed by AVG."Paul Zucker
