® Help: Where are the computer clearances?

Friday, 16 July, 2004

Do any readers know of on-line places where they have computer clearances? (I don't want eBay thanks.

Or perhaps someone knows of a business closing down and selling the computer stuff?

Tommy Tsang, Carlingford, NSW

We'll see what the readers can come up with. I presume you want something in the Sydney area.

You can also try a Google search such as this, or of course a Sensis search such as this.

I also notice that a number of retailers and vendors have clearance sections on their web sites. For instance Dick Smith Electronics, Harris Technology and Acer. (factory Outlet).

That last one is a clue for another Google or Sensis search -- I'll leave it to you to try a search such as computer "factory outlet" site:au

You will find every Sunday a market store type set up .Selling new and used computer items There are over 30 stores competing 4 ur dollar. Haggle a bit and get a good price. If one store wont another will.

Hey, I duon't know why you'ld want to get anything from places like Harvey Norman... They are extremely expensive. I would recommend going to www.razorprices.com and finding a store then asking about it's reliability in the forum there setup for those kinds of things.

Hi all,

Go to Auction Traders, myself and friends have gotten computers from here. And no its nothing like ebay, these auction are from companies and lidigations ( I think thats how you spell it) the site is

http://www.auctiontrader.com.au/ppauction/index.cfm

you will have to join but it is free, they do charge 10% GST & Postage of course. just this week they had over a hundred PC - AMD Athlon XP 2200 with Sound and Video card just the base no monitor all less than $300 some of them went $195 bucks I wished I had the money.

WARNING though if you make a bid at the end of an auction, if you change youre mind you get a bad name and they ask if you can pay 10% or 20% cant remember of what you bid. So make sure you make a bid if you intend on paying for it.

Go to the site you won't be disapointed, they do take credit

Hi, There are many and varied outlets operating as clearance houses for computers and other goods. Just to name 2, there is Graysonline (which frequently clears out the Demos and Ex Lease models from DELL and also for Harris Technology who are major suppliers of well known brands and accessories) and then there is Pickles Auctions who hold regular auctions for used/ex lease/ gov't etc, computers and gear and are located in most capital cities and larger regional centres, such as Townsville.

I've been getting all my stuf from Harvey Norman Computer seconds at Auburn for a while now. I've never had a problem. They can install, upgrade or just sell. Depending on what you want.
