i have an eMachine PC and can not send emails and can not get lower case.

I have tried shift keys and just about everything. Any ideas?

The keyboard problem is probably in the computer, but it's easy to check if it';s the keyboard -- just borrow one from a friend and try that.

When you say you can;t get lower case, is that all the time or just in one program?(I ask because I've seen people using a word processor with a font that only has upper case.)

You mentioned both problems together, so I wonder if they happened together? Depending on how adventurous you are it may be time to rebuild the system. That is,. format the hard disk and reinstall Windows. Do you have the recovery disc? Make sure you have all your work saved somewhere else first.

If that idea daunts you why not ask a PC-knowledgeable friend to have a look at your PC. They may find the problem quickly.

Is it possible that you've fallen foul of some sort of Malware? Do you use an up-to-date antivirus program?
