Where do you get eMachine drivers?

Wednesday, 07 April, 2010

OLDER QUESTION

I Have an eMachine T3256 Part# 72-72-10353-50. I called the manufacturer and they say they don't have the drivers for this motherboard. I want to get this computer going the correct way.

Dealer Circuit City has had this computer 4 times and still can't fix it correctly. I’d like to have all the drivers for this mother board so I can load the computer correctly. Can you help me please?

Have you tried http://www.emachines.com/ ? Have you even TRIED THAT? If you haven't, stop complaining.

The quality of ongoing customer support for ‘brand name’ PCs has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time now, and through contact with readers who have had problems with eMachines system I suspect that this particular company has become my newest ‘pet hate’. The company’s website doesn’t even offer driver downloads for any but their current systems, it seems to me!

Assuming that you don’t have a usable Recovery CD from which to restore the system, here’s what I’d do in your situation:
  • Wipe the system’s hard drive clean and install Windows from a genuine Windows CD.
  • Install the nVidia reference ‘Unified driver’ package for the nForce 2 platform, which is the chipset in your system.
  • Install the appropriate nVidia reference display driver. (If you're using Windows XP then a suitable device driver will likely be installed for you once the motherboard chipset driver has been load, as the integrated graphics are, basically, Geforce 2 graphics for which Windows XP already contains a device driver.
  • Should this procedure leave either audio or Ethernet LAN not fully functional, I'd disable the relevant integrated function in the system’s BIOS setup, and include a cheap add-in card to provide the relevant function.

I’m sorry that this is a less than adequate answer. The system uses the nForce 2 nVidia chipset, that much is certain. If eMachines has adhered to the reference design when implementing it then the reference ‘Unified’ motherboard chipset driver package should enable full functionality. If, however, eMachines has included non-standard chips on the motherboard for LAN and audio, then I’d need to identify those chips to be able to determine what device driver would be suitable to use with them, and I’m afraid I simply don’t have that information. Should the need arise, disabling those ‘integrated functions’ in BIOS and using cheap add-in cards instead would represent a quick, inexpensive and simple solution.

The system specifications I've listed for your machine suggest that it was provided with Windows XP Home Edition preinstalled, so the most recent relevant device drivers would be:

Motherboard chipset – Windows XP Unified driver version 5.10 Integrated graphics (if you need it) – Forceware release 80

If you're not using Windows XP then visit www.nvidia.com and download the appropriate driver versions for your ‘flavour’ of Windows.

Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 2 would need to be installed before the device drivers. If the Windows XP CD you're using doesn't already have either Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 integrated, then you can download the full 270M SP2 installation package in readiness from Microsoft

I hope that helps,

Emachines doesn't offer much help. Get the free version of Everest which will specifically tell you what you have on the machine. Then go to the manufacurer website for the drivers. That's what I did and it's just like brand new.

If you need drivers for the EMachine T3065 this should do the trick. Your Computer has nforce2 chip set the drivers for that are found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_2.45. After a fresh install of XP Home this was all I needed. Installed everything except the modem. If you need try the rest. Hope it helps.

Your Graphics card is Nvidia Geforce4 mx, the drivers for that are found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html

Your sound card is nforce the drivers are found here:

Well I'm sorry to see I'm not the only one having problems with these. I tried the nvidia drivers recommended above on my T3830, but they don't work. No NIC drivers at emachines.com for mine, either, and the audio drivers they have don't work

I'm fixing a friend's emachines T3256 which was so buggy that I did a fresh XP install on a new hard drive. I couldn't access the internet until I installed the driver package found at http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html
This worked for the NIC card, and other drivers were installed as well. I think this will probably work on other models too.

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
You know I just came here cause I wanted to see if I needed to just suck it up reinstall drivers with third party hard ware. It really is not that hard but it is a bitch. Just remember that some computer companies discontinue the software when they start using new OS's. It sucks trust me I know, I have fought with Dell through hell and back for this same subject about eight months ago. Either way I got the same computer running but then it went down for reasons unknown, I think there was short in anyhow. Any questions that the idiots do not answer can definitely be directed to me. If you are still looking for drivers updates for your emachine here is the one for the Acer e625: http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/ search.asp?param=e625&st=kw&site=emachines
If you have another emachine just type the name in the search box like I did: e625 and you get all the driver downloads for your machine. Good luck.

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
PZ is right,TurranMC...you are lazy.
By the way, your R-Machine El 1200.....is actually LISTED!
And, I found it, yet again..........under 'Customer Care"!
(This is E-Machine's way of saying "DRIVER DOWNLOADS"! AND, YES, IT A 3 STEP SELECTION PROCESS....once you get there!)

PARDON ME!
This is for those too lazy to help themselves.

If you(and those who also have E-Machines) can't find the drivers from the web-site, all I can say, is, that you're abusing the generousity.....of the people trying to help you!

Again, I found it...with great ease, so should you!

TurranMCPosted: 30/10/2009

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
I've looked all throughout this thread and the internet. No matter where on the internet I go all the driver download links are dead. This is really stupid. I have an eMachine EL 1200 and its now almost entirely useless because all the drivers are gone after formatting the computer and I can't get them back.

Even worse, its not as if I can take the computer apart or something. Almost all of the computer is built straight into the motherboard. Without the drivers I can do nothing with it.

If anyone can find a place with the drivers and WORKING download links I will greatly appreciate it. This is terrible right now.

(Open the PC, find the motherboard part number and Google for drivers for that. Anyway, what is the problem with going straight to www.emachines.com? -PZ)

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
There's a common theme.....to these enquiries/response.
It's this...........the wrong details were entered (or that the ones supposeably doing the looking are too 'bone-lazy'...to doing the looking themselves!.... on eMachine's web-site.

Someone else wrote in....to say that they couldn't find the drivers.....their EMachine required.
And, yes, originally, armed with nothing but the scant Info given.........I too 'lucked out'!

(Couldn't find the SMachine....by the ModelNumber given.)

I studied the web-site, again...to make sure that I did have the right one. (I did have, in fact, all along.)

Okay!
What is the "TYPE".... of your E-Machine?
(This question!......has been left out.......of all these enquiries/responses.)

It can be only 1 ...of 3!
Server!
Desk-top!
Lap-top/Notebook!

The E-Machine web-site does have this 'Option'....available.

And this 'option'....is a part of a 3-Step operation....for anyone....to find ALL they need ...regarding their 'particular' E-Machine.

Did I find what I was looking for?

(I wouldn't be telling you,now, if I didn't,now,would I?!)

So, I'll ask you (all who CAN NOT find what they're looking for)..........Pull your finger out! and start looking yourselves!

The simple truth being...."If I find it, so can you!"

You will have to pay to use this site but I work on computers and subscribe to them. It is better than paying someone else to find the drivers for you ....the geek squad? You are throwing your money away with them.

All you really need is to get on the Net with a cheap ethernet card. Then find your drivers which is easier said than done. Try www.driveragent.com but like i said you gotta pay unless you want to hunt the net.

This resolves Sm Bus Controller driver problem.

If you are recieving "Error 22: A critical error has occurred while initializing DirectDraw." while trying to play Diablo 2, Warcraft III, or World of Warcraft, it is because direct draw has been disabled. Download the program, execute it, and it will tell you your exact mb.
Go to the mb site, and get the drivers, that you need.

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
The T3256 uses a FIC AU31 mobo. All your drivers can be found here:

http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socketa/au31_downloads.shtml

Your best bet on all emachine drivers are at

http://www.e4allupgraders.info

The right place
The website from Rocco and jeremy is NOT the upgraders website. This is:

Try this site it might be of some help and do not just go intalling everything make sure you are using the right stuff.
If If this does not help the you can look at the emachines website there is a download section but it only has a couple of drivers for major stuff like video and sound from what I seen.
Oh and for people looking for the multi media keyboard driver look in my computer on drive c then look for a folder with cab or something like that. If it is not there then you stuck for now.
If you have not brunt your recovery disc even if you have Windows disc you probably want to look in to brunting it because some systems have been know to give the Windows disc and leave you to make the driver disc.

i just got done chating emachines online chat rep tech about my T3828. i was reluctiant at first due to many of reports that folks had problems dealing with them. I had no hassle maybe due to me actualy registering my PC with them when I first got it. the tech was friendly and stright to the point about my PC not needing a bios update . I did mention that the main site download support option links were dead and not working. i just reformated my PC hence me seeking any updates.

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
It is very easy to get eMachine drivers. You simply go to this website:
http://www.emachine-upgraders.info/

Pick which country you bought it in from the left menu, pick your model series, then find your model and click the motherboard number next to it. That will have everything but modem drivers usually. If you need any other drives go here:
http://emachines.com/support/options.html

click "Chat with a Tech" and they will give you the link for the download. Took me 5 minutes to get the modem driver i needed.

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
I have just spent 20 minutes on the phone arguing with one of their customer care reps with no luck, these bastards are trying to charge me $20 for a link to download the drivers, they only offer drivers for there latest models. I knew I should have gotten a DELL. EMACHINE is pathetic, if I am not mistaking they are related to gateway■.well that figures.

I believe I have the drivers DC at work I will retrieve it tomorrow and I will check this forum periodically, IF YOU NEED THE DRIVERS EMAIL ME OR REPLY TO THIS TOPIC AND I WILL GET YOU A LINK FOR FREE.

I WILL TRY TO PUT IS IN AS MANY FORUMS WITH THIS PROBLEM AS I CAN. CAUSE THOSE BASTARDS AT EMACHINE ARE NOT GANNA RIP ANYONE OFF AS LONG AS I HHAVE THAT CD.
-sight- ok I feel a lil better now.

re: Where do you get eMachine drivers?
Emachines use an nvidia nforce2 chipset on my t3256, I installed the following file: (nForce_5.10_WinXP2K_WHQL_english)
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp It has the driver for the sound card and the NIC among other things. Go figure.

Nice Job Emachines, I gues you get what you pay for.
