How can I connect an Apple Monitor to a PC?

Saturday, 14 June, 2003

I want to connect an Apple multiple scan 15 display (serial no CY6020W73CX) to a standard SVGA output on a Windows PC.

You need a Mac to PC (VGA) monitor adapter (AKA Apple to SVGA) or you can try a DVI to ADC adaptor as well.

See: What is a DVI Port and what can I do with it?

The 15" Multiple Scan display uses Apple's proprietary 15-pin VGA cable: but it's basically a VGA cable nonetheless. All you will need is an Apple VGA- normal VGA cable. Most AppleCentres carry them (have a look in the yellow pages), and places like palaeographics.com.au are probably worth a look too. It'll cost about $30/40.
