Someone stole My Space

Thursday, 01 May, 2008

Someone changed my password to my MySpace account and I can not log in.

My page is still there but I can not log on to it.

Can someone help me out?

Shawn , ,

Shawn, what am I missing here? We get this sort of question every day on HelpStation.

What is the problem? If you want to log on to a web site such as MySpace you have to provide a username and a password. I presume you're doing that, right?

So what happens next? I can only see three possibilities:

  1. It logs you on
  2. It says that the username and password don;t match and won't log you on.
  3. Something happens to disrupt the procedure.

Which is it, 2 or 3?

If it's 2, then you choose the "I forgot my password" option to try to regain access to the account.

If it's 3 then you try to find out what's getting in the way, such as a firewall.

You say that someone changed your password - are you sure or are you just guessing? Until you've tried the "Lost password" option you won't know. Most "stolen passwords" are simply "forgotten passwords".

re: Someone stole My Space
It's not un-heard of that people hack Myspace accounts; usually some snotty little teenager that is just trying to be a jerk. This is done via some simple downloadable programs that get past id login.
But the chances of this actually happening slim too non.
(if in the event that this has happened send an email to the Myspace Webmaster "TOM" this at least brings it to site manager attention.) But before jumping the gun make sure to check the "i lost my password option" or just start a new. And if you fear people getting into your myspace simply set it too private so only your accepted friends can view your space.

Happy Blogging Shawn @ MySpace

By the very nature of your question,I would say that you 'flunked' in your computer lessons,where-ever you learnt them.

What is wrong, with writing down those Usernames/Passwords you use..into a note-book,to kept handy nearby, for such an occassion as this?
If you don't want others using these Usernames/Passwords....stash note-book somewhere only you know 'where' to find it?
You created your Password.(nobody else did)
Use some common-sense,here,Shaun,and follow advice given.
