When Photoshop Elements 9 was released in 2010, it included several cool new features, most of them drawn from big brother Photoshop, and it was hard to imagine where the consumer image editor could go from there. However, Adobe has somehow managed to add another set of impressive new features to Photoshop Elements 10.

Adobe's Creative Suite, or at least the Master Collection edition, has grown to include 18 media and web creation applications, so a major upgrade is a massive and lengthy undertaking. However, with the web and publishing industries evolving so quickly — fuelled by the booms in smartphones, tablets and ebooks — Adobe obviously felt the need for this interim release. As a result, not every app in Adobe Create Suite 5.5 gets an update, but publishers and video editors will find plenty to interest them. We’ve focused on the main new upgrades and additions for this review.
