On the surface, the new Netgear WNDR3800 looks to be a fairly conventional four-port 802.11n wireless router. It supports Gigabit Ethernet and simultaneous dual-band 802.11n wireless operation (letting you avoid wireless congestion by jumping to the 5GHz wireless frequency), but those things aren’t that unusual now. It also has a USB 2.0 port for sharing a storage device or a printer on the network. Again, not that uncommon. What makes the Netgear really stand out, however, is the quality of the firmware.
